los deportados

via truthdig and murphywoodhouse's channel, the following short film, Los Deportados:  Stories from the other side, by University of Arizona students Murphy Woodhouse and ST McNeil, looks at the human side of deportation, and recently speaking with immigrants deported to Nogales, Sonora, a Mexican border city.  truthdig reports that roughly 4.4 million immigrants have been deported between 2005-2010, many separated from families. 





incarceration of immigrants has sharply risen, too;  for example, the film reports more arrests for, say, reentry into the country with lengthy 6 year prison sentences.  the following video short, Immigrants For Sale, looks at the connection between lobbyists for the private prison industry, professional racists, members of congress, and their immoral profiteering off human misery:
